The overall impact of this decision is still minimal. This is partly because the UK has already formally left, but continues to apply EU regulations. However, this transitional phase will end at the end of 2020, and on January 1, 2021, both sides will take their separate ways. In fact, there should be an agreement by then that will determine the future relations between the United Kingdom and the EU. But it is doubtful whether a common denominator can actually be found within a few months. And Brexit&#8217;s consequences are also being felt by Amazon FBA companies selling internationally &#8211; both British and EU companies.&nbsp;The questions that sellers are asking themselves is: &#8220;What will happen to my merchandise?&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"theme-wp-block wp-block-heading gb-responsive-132182-identifier\">No More Stock Will Be Transferred After Brexit: Amazon FBA Stops All Transfers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-881340-identifier\">After Brexit, your merchandise on Amazon will still be able to move between the UK and the EU. However, the process will become more difficult from several perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-620364-identifier\"> <strong>As of January 01, 2021, Amazon stops all stock transfers within the Pan EU programme.<\/strong>&nbsp;Not only could British sellers lose access to the European Amazon marketplaces, but German, French, Spanish, and other European sellers could also face potential problems&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerlogic.com\/en\/blog\/how-to-sell-on-amazon-for-beginners\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">selling their products<\/a>&nbsp;across the new customs border to Great Britain and Northern Ireland.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-877963-identifier\">Until now, sellers have been able to take a relatively relaxed position towards Brexit thanks to Amazon FBA and Pan EU programmes. In this programme, sellers send their merchandise to any of Amazon&#8217;s European logistics centres. Afterwards, the e-commerce giant not only takes care of packaging, shipping, and customer service, but also the demand-oriented distribution of the products within the European Union.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-701245-identifier\">But following the exit of the UK from the EU, Amazon will also stop the service for FBA products and will no longer transport the merchandise of British sellers to the EU or, vice versa, the items of European sellers to the UK. These changes have far-reaching consequences, as companies will no longer use the online giant&#8217;s extensive logistics network. However, for many sellers this is probably only the worst solution, especially if a certain amount of sales is generated \u2013post Brexit \u2013 on amazon.co.uk.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-388744-identifier\">The e-commerce giant is&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/sellercentral.amazon.co.uk\/gc\/sell-online\/brexit?ref_=brexfhp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">proposing two further solutions<\/a>&nbsp;to be able to sell through the Pan EU programme as well as in the UK after Brexit <em>without<\/em> the need of using the European shipping network:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"theme-block-list\">\n<ol class=\"theme-wp-block desktop-bg-style-square xl-bg-style-square lg-bg-style-square md-bg-style-square sm-bg-style-square desktop-gb-has-no-icon xl-gb-has-no-icon lg-gb-has-no-icon md-gb-has-no-icon sm-gb-has-no-icon gb-responsive-237983-identifier wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-299664-identifier desktop-bg-style-square xl-bg-style-square lg-bg-style-square md-bg-style-square sm-bg-style-square desktop-gb-has-no-icon xl-gb-has-no-icon lg-gb-has-no-icon md-gb-has-no-icon sm-gb-has-no-icon\"><strong>The shipment of products by the seller directly to an Amazon logistics centre within the United Kingdom.<\/strong>&nbsp;However, this also means that sellers have to split their stock. Items that are stored in the EU or in the UK will no longer be available for orders from the other location.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-636895-identifier desktop-bg-style-square xl-bg-style-square lg-bg-style-square md-bg-style-square sm-bg-style-square desktop-gb-has-no-icon xl-gb-has-no-icon lg-gb-has-no-icon md-gb-has-no-icon sm-gb-has-no-icon\"><strong>The own dispatch of orders by an external distribution service provider via FBM.<\/strong>&nbsp;With this approach, the question arises, particularly in the case of merchandise, to what extent the loss of FBA status and the Prime logo influence the chances of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sellerlogic.com\/en\/blog\/how-to-win-the-amazon-buy-box-in-13-steps\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">winning the Buy Box<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"theme-wp-block wp-block-heading gb-responsive-741144-identifier\">How Will Brexit Affect Amazon FBA Sellers?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"theme-wp-block gb-responsive-657577-identifier\">Buying from Amazon after Brexit is not the only thing that will have changed. It is uncertain to what extent Brexit will affect Amazon UK sellers as well. Both solutions have in common that in the future of the UK marketplace, the seller will be responsible for bringing the merchandise across the new customs border and must therefore also comply with all legal requirements. This may include, for example, a valid VAT identification number for the United Kingdom, EORI numbers or certain licences. The specific requirements that need to be fulfilled also depend on whether or not there will be a trade agreement.
